My wife was so excited to order me this special gift for Christmas, I feel horrible to return it. Like other reviewers here, I must agree...this unit is pure junk in audio quality, although nicely packaged. Cost a hefty $400 plus shipping and it sounds...

Received as a gift from my brother. Very excited. Good way to transfer that old vinyl to CD. Unfortunately, the electronics are a piece of crap!! Radio tuner barely works. CD function will not work at all!!! Open/close button does absolutely NOTHING!!!...

Summary

No one else has mentioned this so I'll throw it out there in case it's relevant to someone. This unit records your vinyl/tapes to CD, but it records an entire side as one track. If you expect to put this CD in your computer and rip to another file...

I had high hopes for this product. I have hundreds of albums I'd like to convert to CD. The Crosley songwriter is easy to use but sadly, the sound quality is atrocious. I too am returning mine. I can't believe they even bothered to produce this item...

Summary

It took about 24 hours to determine that I had a $400.00 piece of junk on my hands. Sound quality is horrible and the turntable is no better than a 1950s "el cheapo". I am extremely disappointed with this item and am returning it for a refund...sad part...

Kind of cute was my first reaction, and the thought of reproducing the 100's of records that I own from a bygone age on CD's was the alluring feature. Actually, the recording operation was fairly uncomplicated; however, the sound quality was just awful...

Overall, I am pleased with the Crosley Songwriter. It's easy to use and has a handsome, retro design. The stereo sound quality is good on all the components except for the turntable. LPs sound as though they are being played on a child's record player...

Easy to use. Makes CDs quickly and allows you to choose which tracks to record.

Weakness

Poor sound quality on the turntable player.
