Summary

have good and bad memories of technics. the bad ones just seem to wash away the good ones nowadays. my first pair of 1210's were damn perfect. the pitch was incredibly tight for months and months then about a year after i had them disaster. any row of dots on the strobe illuminator that usually stayed still while the pitch was set to 3.3 or 6% etc. but then one day they started to waver ever so slighly. the sound wasn't affected but it made mixing a nightmare. where beats usually sat on top of each other perfectly it sounded now like they were always slightly out. with frustration on a high i forced myself to sell them and buy another pair. same thing happened all over again. had them replaced, same story.....again. i heard from a few retailers i might have picked up a pair of imports, not uk 1210's,which are apparently a lot more accurate. i never chased this up as it would have cost me 800 gbp for a pair! i've had a few more pairs of technics since but they've all gone down the same wobbly road. i feel really cheated because i know all to well how good these decks really are. i want to get another pair but i need to know from an honest source where i can get them and they're gonna be 100% out of the box and onwards indefinetely. if anyone reads this and has the same problem as me i beg them to e-mail me at lazy_boy909@yahoo.co.uk

Strength

perfect when they are perfect in every way, never jump, never waver. built like brick houses.

Weakness

imports, nuff said

Summary

The 1210mk5 are not to be confused with the 1210mk5g's. A lot of websites are making this mistake at present. The 1210mk5 carry on the respected name of technics as the industry standard in turntables and are worth the extra cash when compared to the 1210mk2's. Most clubs in my area haven't changed over from mk2 to mk5 but this is probably due to laziness. Definitly worth the money the mk5's once again prove that when it comes to decks, Technics really do know best.

Strength

Non-Click pitch at %0.00 but with an automatiic pitch reset button instead. NICE. Longer life stylus. Sunken start/stop button to prevent accidental start up or stop. You can adjust the braking speed by simply lifting off the platter now instead of dismantelling the whole turntable.

Weakness

None as yet!

Summary

This is 1 of the great turntables of all time. It tracks flawlessly and sounds better than cd or dvd. Don't listen to the unbelievers. No audio equipment, even the million $ stuff is perfect. We know this. Now, you guys may know about the MK5G 30th anniversary 1200 which is still only available in Japan and I believe Europe. I hope it's available here in the States soon. Anyway, if anyone has tried this, please let us know!

Summary

This Turntable has been kicking around for more the 20 years. It's like and old boxer that kicked butt back in the day and is still fighting and holding it's own and beating the new kids that try to take it's title. I have had mine for about a year, they are very heave for a reason, made of metal and heave rubber. sound great, yeah they are alittle high on price but it's worth it. ranked number one in turntables for 20 plus years.

Strength

has stood the test of time. built like a tank and looks as mean as a bulldog. sounds freaking awsome.

Weakness

none

Summary

This turntable is the best out there. If you are looking to progress as any type of DJ, this turntable is the one you are looking for. IT has great pickup and is built to last. I have had mine for four years and I have yet to have a problem. This turntable is the staple for DJing, turntablism or whatever you piece. Heres a fact, this model has been used by thousands of DJs since the late 70s

Strength

Great pick up, built to last, great customization capabilities, the staple of turntables

Weakness

the pitch fader has a catch point at the zero and can be hard to get a pitch close to 0. The rest of the fader slides independantly. If this is an Issue the MK3 doesnt have a catch point but a button that resets to pitch zero
